Ophthalmologist Austin Blake Taylor, D.O. started with the Reeves Eye Institute in July of 2019. He is a board certified ophthalmologist with a fellowship in glaucoma. Originally from Gate City, VA, Austin wants to be able to give back to the community that he calls home.
Dr. Taylor attended The University of Virginia’s College at Wise where he received a bachelor of science in biology and a bachelor of arts in chemistry. After obtaining his undergraduate degrees, he attended medical school in the Cumberland Gap at Lincoln Memorial University-Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Taylor is committed to providing superior ophthalmic care to the region. He is a cataract surgeon that is proficient with the newest advanced technology intraocular implants. His glaucoma patients benefit from lasers and procedures that can reduce the dependency of lifelong drops. He understands the needs of the patient and wants to bring compassion and empathy to the field of ophthalmology.
In addition to treating ophthalmic diseases, Dr. Taylor also received training in cosmetic procedures during his time in Miami. He uses Botox and cosmetic fillers to treat wrinkles, unwanted lines on the face, and is able to better define the lips and cheeks while maintaining a natural appearance.
