While Laser Vision Correction can be a great option for many people, there are quite a few cases in which patients who wish to enjoy the benefits of vision correction are not candidates for the procedure due to eye health, age, or other factors. In these situations, Dr. Reeves offers alternative procedures, such as EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer® Lens), Multifocal Lens options, PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy), and other effective options, providing additional pathways for more people than ever to enjoy better vision and newfound freedom from glasses or contacts

Dr. Donny Reeves and The Reeves Eye Institute perform the very latest in vision correction surgery. Simply put, there are options!

PRK (Photo Refractive Keratectomy), the predecessor to LASIK, is slightly different but is just as effective in treating nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. PRK is similar but the laser treatment is performed on the outside of the cornea. This is the treatment option that is included in the Spring Special. Some who are not candidates for Laser Vision Correction, who might have a slightly thin cornea, could very well be a candidate for this amazing procedure.

LASIK® (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) uses the same laser technology to reshape the cornea, correcting vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism similar to PRK. But, a flap is created with a femtosecond laser and after laser treatment, the flap is repositioned. There is an small upcharge to cover the cost of the additional laser, but otherwise, the Spring Special does apply for LASIK.

EVO ICL (Implantable Contact Lens ) is a refractive implant to correct common vision issues like myopia (nearsightedness) with or without astigmatism.

RLE (Refractive Lens Exchange) is a surgical procedure that involves replacing the eye’s natural, clear lens with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL) to correct vision. Many of those interested in Laser Vision Correction but are not candidates due to age or other factors like thin cornea could be a candidate for this treatment option. A RLE treats presbyopia, myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. The goal here is two-fold. First, vision correction at near, far and up close, but also, those who have had an RLE will no longer need to be worried about cataracts due to the new intraocular lens!

Multifocal Lens is another option for those seeking to reduce or possibly eliminate their need for glasses or contacts. Developed for cataract patients, the Multifocal Lens option involves replacing the natural lens but additional benefits are vision correction at all distances. What’s more, the Multifocal Lens, many times, will help the patient with readers vision, a relatively new advancement in vision correction surgery. Plus, there will be no need for cataract surgery later in life, as the Multifocal Lens option will take care of that!
